MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS WERE ESTIMATED AT 65 KNOTS GUSTING TO 80 KNOTS. SEE REF A (WTPN33 PGTW 281500) FOR FURTHER DETAILS. THE SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY CLASSIFIED AS A SUBTROPICAL CYCLONE, GENERALLY CHARACTERIZED AS HAVING BOTH TROPICAL AND MIDLATITUDE CYCLONE FEATURES. MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE IMAGERY (MSI) DEPICTS A BROAD BUT DEFINED LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION CENTER WITH A WEAK PLUME OF CONVECTION DISPLACED FAR TO THE SOUTHEAST BY STRONG VERTICAL WIND SHEAR (VWS). ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS DEPICTS HIGH VWS (50KTS), WEAK EQUATORWARD OUTFLOW, AND COOL SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES (23-25C). ENSEMBLE AND DETERMINISTIC MODELS ARE IN AGREEMENT FOR A GRADUAL DECAY IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 32 TO 38 KNOTS. MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1003 MB. FOR HAZARDS AND WARNINGS, REFERENCE THE FLEET WEATHER CENTER SAN DIEGO HIGH WINDS AND SEAS PRODUCT OR REFER TO LOCAL WMO DESIGNATED FORECAST AUTHORITY.
