TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY: (1) AT 04MAR26 0000Z, TROPICAL CYCLONE 24P (TWENTYFOUR) WAS LOCATED NEAR 14.2S 150.8E, APPROXIMATELY 331 NM EAST-NORTHEAST OF CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA, AND HAD TRACKED SOUTH- SOUTHEASTWARD AT 02 KNOTS OVER THE PAST SIX HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS WERE ESTIMATED AT 35 KNOTS GUSTING TO 45 KNOTS. SEE REF A (WTPS31 PGTW 040300) FOR FURTHER DETAILS. (2) NO OTHER TROPICAL CYCLONES. B. TROPICAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY: (1) THE AREA OF CONVECTION (INVEST 92P) PREVIOUSLY LOCATED NEAR 15.0S 137.4E IS NOW LOCATED NEAR 15.0S 136.9E, APPROXIMATELY 163 NM SOUTH OF GOVE AIRPORT. ANIMATED MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE IMAGERY DEPICTS A BROAD AREA OF TURNING WITHIN THE SOUTHERN GULF OF CARPENTARIA. ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS DEPICTS A MARGINALLY FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR DEVELOPMENT WITH WEAK OUTFLOW ALOFT, LOW TO MODERATE VERTICAL WIND SHEAR (15-20 KTS), AND WARM SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES (30-31 C). GLOBAL MODELS AGREE ON 92P TRACKING WESTWARD, OVER LAND, OVER THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS WITH LITTLE TO NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENT. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 18 TO 23 KNOTS. Thunderstorm Advisory No. 6 #MINPRSD Issued at 09:20 PM 04 March 2026 Moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over #DinagatIslands, #SurigaoDelNorte(Alegria, Claver, Gigaquit, Tubod, Mainit, Bacuag, Malimono, Placer, TaganaAn, Socorro, SanFrancisco, SurigaoCity, SiargaoIsland), #SurigaoDelSur, #AgusanDelSur, #ZamboangaDelSur(Tukuran, Aurora), #LanaoDelNorte(SultanNagaDimaporo, Kapatagan, Lala, Sapad, Nunungan), #LanaoDelSur(Picong), #DavaoOriental(Boston, Cateel), #DavaoDeOro(Monkayo), #DavaoOccidental(JoseAbadSantos and DonMarcelino) within the next 1-2 hours. The above conditions are being experienced in #SurigaoDelNorte(Sison) which may persist within 1-2 hours and may affect nearby areas.
