SOUTH PACIFIC AREA (WEST COAST OF SOUTH AMERICA TO 135 EAST): A. TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY: NONE. B. TROPICAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY: (1) THE AREA OF CONVECTION (INVEST 98P) PREVIOUSLY LOCATED NEAR 16.0S 167.8E IS NOW LOCATED NEAR 16.8S 167.3E, APPROXIMATELY 82 NM NORTHWEST OF PORT VILLA. ANIMATED MULTISPECTRAL SATELLITE IMAGERY (MSI) DEPICTS A WELL-DEVELOPED LOW LEVEL CIRCULATION CENTER (LLCC) WITH DEEP CONVECTION WRAPPING INTO THE CENTER AND FLARING CONVECTION ALONG THE SOUTHERN PERIPHERY OF THE CIRCULATION. ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS REVEALS FAVORABLE CONDITIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT WITH LOW VERTICAL WIND SHEAR (10 TO 15KTS), WARM SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURES (29 TO 30 C), AND GOOD EQUATORWARD OUTFLOW. GLOBAL AND ENSEMBLE MODELS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF INVEST 98P, ALONG WITH THE GENERAL SOUTH EASTWARD TACK OVER THE NEXT 24 HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 27 TO 32 KNOTS. MINIMUM SEA LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1000 MB.
